Absolute Tracker AT401

Leica Geosystems Metrology is best known for its broad array of control and industrial measurement products. At the Control show in Stuttgart, Leica Geosystems have presented their new laser tracker. The new Leica Absolute Tracker AT401 is a highly accurate portable CMM for 3D measurements over ultra long ranges. It is the first laser tracker to be battery operated and designed for cable-less operation. Moreover, it is IP54 certified and includes enhanced features such as PowerLock and Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) that make it the easiest to use 3D Leica Absolute Tracker ever created.

Tactile measurement with AICON’s new MI.Probe

Just in time for the beginning of the Control show, AICON launches the unique MI.Probe. It combines extraordinary design with technical finesse – and is easy to handle at the same time. The hand-held probe can be combined with all MoveInspect systems and will be available from the end of May.

Automatic correction of Wafios freeform bending machines

With immediate effect AICON offers an additional interface that connects TubeInspect directly with free-form bending machines. This results in automatic correction values being identified for the formed tubes and transmitted to the bending machine. Thus set-up time is shortened considerably.

More than 125 guests came to participate in this year's AICON 3D Forum on 11 March 2010. The conference informs about the latest trends and developments in optical metrology.

Different lectures presented possibilities how to apply optical measuring systems in various areas. At the same time, an exhibition took place where manufacturers of optical measuring systems and inspection software showcased their products, e.g. Breuckmann, Creaform, Geomagic and Steinbichler.

Measuring bent tubes

Photogrammetry, also known as optical measurement, uses a booth equipped with several digital cameras to make a digital image of the part, allowing fast, easy measurements.
